DRAWING CLASS
With Henry Wolyniec
Oak Street Studios is hosting a drawing class for students ages 10 -14, who are interested in strengthening their drawing techniques.
Students will meet once a week for one hour for the spring trimester, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45, April 5 to June 18th - no class April 20.
The cost is $210
These sessions provide the opportunity to work with local artist Henry Wolyniec, and a live (clothed) model ( Rosemary Herb ).
One of the best ways to improve drawing skills is to work from real life. Students will work each week with Henry to study the human form and gain a basic understanding of of the elements that make up the human figure and how to better portray them. Students will be introduced to contour drawing, gesture drawing, proportion as well as shading and texture.
COMICS CLASS
Hey There Kids
Are you interested in drawing comics?
This class instructs students in how to think in the language and techniques of comics. The classes are exercise driven with numerous examples and instruction in how to communicate an idea comics wise. We will create characters and stories suited to your child's ideas and fantasies. This is not a how to draw class. This is a how to make comics class. We encourage an interactive classroom discussion about what comics are and how they work, with each class geared to its distinctive age group.
Courses taught by local artist Henry Wolyniec.

Please Note, Comics Class does not run on the same schedule as trimester classes.

CIRCUITRY CLASS
New at Oak Street Studios
Lets get creative with electronics!!

Starting from circuit bending and moving on to circuit building, students will learn the fundamentals of creative electronics through a series of hands on projects.
Circuit bending is the process of rewiring toys that produce speech or sound to create unpredictable audio effects. Hiding in the circutry of toys of a certain vintage there are frequently bizzare and beautiful sounds not programmed by the toy's original manufacturers. Circuit bending is a safe trial and error process and requires no previous knowledge of electronics and can produce immediate results.
From there students will work on some simple sensor based circuits that respond to light and generate electronic tones. Depending on the pace of the class we may also work on some LED based projects and integrate handmade circuits into circuit bent toys. Students will build all of their electronics on solderless protoyping board and the instructor will handle the soldering duties.
Students must be 10 and older. (If you have a younger student please call to discuss it, as we can admit a few younger students to each class)
Class size is limited so please call Beth at 772-0236 to register!
Courses taught by local artist Galen Richmond.
Please Note, Circuitry Class does not run on the same schedule as trimester classes.
