Create your very own comic book and experience the thrill of bringing your ideas to life on the page in book form!
This class will run in two halves, first you will work with Portland artist and art teacher, Allison Villani. Students will look at local book artists, learn the the ins and outs on the folded page, and create sculptural books in which you can incorporate your comic creations.
For the second half of the day, students will work with Henry Wolyniec, another local artist, and learn aspects of the comic creation process. Henry will help you write a story and then interpret it visually, teaching you professional techniques for drawing, inking and page layout. Create a main character that will bring your hand made books to life!
The end product will be several sculptural books and a very unique comic book!
